"Premieres" will feature official trailers and synopses from what I feel looks like the most interesting (or the only, in some cases) original programming coming out in the subsequent week on Hulu, Amazon Prime, Netflix, and elsewhere. In no way to these previews represent recommendations or reviews. My intent is to post this segment each Thursday or Friday, but we'll see. Enjoy!
Arrested Development: Season 5, Part 2 - Netflix, March 15
Synopsis:
"In the second half of Arrested Development's fifth season, pressures mount on the Bluth family as Buster heads toward a murder trial. The Bluth company is on the hook to build a 'smart' border wall that puts them in debt and risks exposing a software hoax perpetrated by George-Michael. Soon the gay mafia is involved and it appears that even Michael can’t save the family this time. And Tobias becomes a Golden Girl."
Love, Death & Robots - Netflix, March 15

Turn Up Charlie- Netflix, March 15
Synopsis:
"Turn Up Charlie centers on the titular Charlie (Idris Elba), a struggling DJ and eternal bachelor, who is given a final chance at success when he reluctantly becomes a ‘manny’ to his famous best friend’s problem-child daughter, Gabby (Frankie Hervey). Piper Perabo and JJ Feild co-star."
Catastrophe: Season Four- Amazon Prime, March 15
Synopsis:
"In the fourth season of the Emmy-nominated comedy, Rob and Sharon’s relationship is pushed to the limit. Rob is sentenced to community service after his drunk driving accident while Sharon learns how to trust him again. This leads to exploring new life changes including career, religion, and health. Their love and humor have survived the ups and downs, but will it be enough to keep them afloat?"
Ash is Purest White- In Theaters, March 15
Synopsis:
"Qiao (Zhao Tao) is in love with her boyfriend Bin (Liao Fan), a small-time gangster. During a fight between rival gangs, she fires a gun to protect him. Qiao gets five years in prison for this act of loyalty. Upon her release, she goes looking for Bin to pick up where they left off."
Captive State- In Theaters, March 15
Synopsis:

The Act- Hulu, March 20
Synopsis:
"The Act is a seasonal anthology series that tells startling, stranger-than-fiction true crime stories. Season One follows Gypsy Blanchard (Joey King), a girl trying to escape the toxic relationship she has with her overprotective mother, Dee Dee (Patricia Arquette). Her quest for independence opens a Pandora’s box of secrets, one that ultimately leads to murder. The series stars Patricia Arquette (Dee Dee Blanchard), Joey King (Gypsy Blanchard), Chloë Sevigny (Mel), AnnaSophia Robb (Lacey) and Calum Worthy (Nick).
